My best friend & Me

Phyu and I were best friends since we two were 9 year
old. We share our joys and never keep any secret in
between. Truly speaking, she is much smarter than me.
She is an apple of every teacher’s eyes.

It was on 18, February 2006, roughly around 6 pm, it
was raining cats and dogs outside, all of a sudden she
ran to my home and dragged me to outside and held my
hand and ran into the rain…

Me: Phyu!! let’s stop here.. I will have to prepare the
dinner for my family..
Phyu: Eain… what should I do now? (start sobbing)
Me: Why? Why are you crying?
Phyu: …..
Me: Talk to me, please! Who bully you?
Phyu: No no! Now I am pregnant already with someone I
loved
Me: Huh?? You had never mentioned to me before you
have boyfriend..
Phyu: It is so sudden, and I had never got a chance to
confess you..
Me: NO. that is just your excuse!
Phyu: As you know, I am 16 only, what will happen if .. if
… if my parents, teachers and other friends find out??
(I was very angry for keeping a secret from me and
shouted on her that “I DON’T KNOW!. That’s because you
never share with me or talk with me before you did!!!”.)
Phyu: Can’t you stop your anger on me? !!!
Me: NO!
Phyu: okay….
She walked away. A few minute later, I realised that I did
something wrong. I turned my head and called her name
but I cannot see her already. In the heavy rain, I tried to
find her but as it was raining terribly, I cannot even see
the street clearly. So, I decided to back home first and
planned to console her in the next morning.

When I was eating dinner with my family, I heard an
ambulance sound. I had no will to eat anymore, I walked
to our house phone, while I was hesitating to make a call
to Phyu ‘s house to check whether Phyu was home or
not. The phone rang. I picked up the phone. I heard “
Hello, I get this number from the wallet of the girl who
jumps to the river! I had reported to police already, what
is the relationship you and victim??”. I was totally stunned
and eyes were blurred with tears. I could not talk
anything though the other side was responding “Hello,
hello…. hello ……”. I dropped the phone and walked
with no direction, all my family members were staring at
me and I started crying aloud. “Phyu, you should not do
this, isn’t it?? …it is all because of me”, I tried to hurt
myself with something, my mom hugged me behind and
sounded “my dear, do you want me to feel the same as
Phyu’s mom?”. “Maaaa…(mom)”, I hugged her tightly
and cried.

That’s the most memorable thing which happened in my
life. I had lost my best friend because of my deeps. If I
could change the time back, I would have got back to the
time we were together…
